  1. I did not write the chat package (it is stolen from the pppd package) and 
  2. I therefor take no responsibility for it.  Go up one directory 
  3. (chat-source) and you'll find all the documentation and source for chat.
  4. Chat is a simple C program that interfaces a modem and implements 
  5. file-locking.  It it used by the beepme program without any specific 
  6. permission from the author(s)...I hope they don't hurt me.
